A First-Timer’s Guide to Choosing Your First Caviar
Share
Buying your first caviar can feel intimidating. Here is a no-nonsense path.
Start with a Mini Tin
A 10–30g tin is ideal for one or two people. You will learn what you like without committing to a large investment.
Pick Classic or Royal Grade
Skip Imperial on your first try. The differences between grades become obvious only after you have a baseline. Our Classic or Royal grades are the right starting points.
Plan the Service
Have crushed ice ready, a non-metal spoon, blinis or boiled potatoes, and chilled Champagne or vodka. Open the tin only at the moment of service.
Take Notes
Write down what you taste — opening, middle, finish. The next tin will read more clearly because you will have something to compare it to.
